Happy Anniversary - Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday Challenge: Using Outline Images

Hi Friends!
Another quick post for today :)
I forgot to share my entry for PTI's fabulous Make it Monday challenge, hosted this week by Stephanie Gold. To see her beautiful card, featuring outline stamps, and all the gorgeous entries, head over here.

I seldom use black or dark ink, but I find that it adds such a beautiful grounding effect, and as Stephanie mentions, it has a way of emphasizing details  so beautifully.

To start this card, I used PTI's The Best is Yet to Be stamp set to stamp a variety of leaves at the bottom of some watercolor paper. In retrospect, I should have used cardstock (I find dye ink bleeds somewhat with watercolor paper), but that is a lesson learned for next time :)

I used colors of Summer  Sunrise, Spring Moss, Lovely Lady, and Aqua Mist to stamp the leaves. I then used a little leaf outline stamp from the Rustic Wreath set to stamp off-set outlines in Smokey Shadow ink.

At the top of the card, I used the Background Basics: Hearts stamp set to stamp solid hearts in Sweet Blush, and then used one of the outline heart designs to stamp offset accents in Smokey Shadow.

I followed the same technique for the focal centerpiece, stamping a heart design from The Best is Yet to Be, along with some more sweet branches and leaves.

I matted the heart on scalloped lilac die-cut, cut with PTI's Limitless Layers: Hearts.

Under the heart, I tucked in some glittery paper and a sweet washi strip - a beautiful gift from my friend, Aneta :)

I added a sentiment and a couple of buttons with string to finish off the card.

I have to say, I'm loving these pretty dark accents! Always such a joy to play along with the creative challenges over at the PTI blog.

Thanks for joining me today, Friends! Happy weekend!

Ivana

  13. What a beautiful Anniversary card, Ivana! I love how you incorporated the outline technique with pops of color throughout your entire design. It’s very tastefully done. The dye ink bleed on watercolor paper just makes it look more artistic. Delightful!
