Happy in my Inbox

A few days ago, I had the pleasure of finding a little surprise in my inbox...A lovely email from a very dear friend of mine :) 

We, unfortunately, lost touch just over a year ago, when both of our lives got rather busy.
Needless to say, we had a lot of catching up to do, and it was wonderful to spend some time sharing the highlights of our lives with one another.
I am so thankful that we are back on track as I'd forgotten just how much I missed her presence in my life :)

I made this card for her a while back, and as soon as we re-connected I remembered I had it.
So I am stopping in quickly today to share it with you before I send it on it's way :) 

I created this card using papers from Prima, Teresa Collins and Webster's Pages. 

For the base of the card, I layered different strips of each of the papers, and finished it with a layer of pretty lace. I then tied a shabby bow to hold all the layers together, and finished it with one of my hand-made buttons. 

For the top of the card, I embellished the traced shape with a bit of stamping and some liquid pearls. 

I stitched a few buttons to accent the punched border, and added a felt rose, which I made using some craft felt and this Die-Namics die. 

I am also very excited to be sending out some happy mail myself, as it is the 15th today and I have TWO winners for my New Year giveaway!!!
