~TCM Special Release Blog Hop!!!~

Welcome to TCM''s special release blog hop! Today is all about a beautiful, special stamp release by the lovely Nina B! It is a truly wonderful set- just in time for Easter!

Here is a card I've created with one of the lovely sentiments in this beautiful new set by Nina, along with some of my other favorite Easter stamps.

I have to admit, I started working on this card a bit late, and was only able to incorporate the beautiful Easter sentiment from the 'No Greater Love' stamp set by Nina B. It is really a wonderful font and just the perfect size for Easter cards like this one. This set also features other lovely images and sentiments, simply perfect for Easter crafting.

Along with the TCM stamps, I've used some of my favorite My Mind's Eye stamps (for the cute little bird) as well as precious little robin's eggs from this Prima stamp set.

The paper on the card is from Beatriz Jenning's lovely shop over at Etsy. If you love shabby designs, her store is one you do not want to miss! I love browsing through her lovely products. Sometimes it is enough to inspire me and at other times I simply cannot resist picking up a few new designs to try out.

For the background of the card and for the little house, I used this beautiful collage from Bety's shop. I created the little house by cutting a rectangle out of the two different patterns on the collage. Then I cut off a tiny strip from either side of the house (without cutting the roof) to create the indents. I cut the upper part of the paper to create the roof, and then used this die-cut to create the little heart inside the house.

I added in some cream and white cardstock and a touch of Tiffany blue with some embossing powder for the robin's eggs.

I used the EK Success Abstract Flower border punch for the bottom of the card and a touch of Distress Ink around the edges of the card.

~A Few More Things~

Forgot to post these two cards last night! So silly of me.

So it's a very quick post tonight as I had planned to show you these two cards last night, but remembered only a few minutes ago that I didn't post these!

Of course, this happened right in the middle of other important stuff I was working on, so hence the short post.

If you have any specific questions about other items used on this card, shoot me a quick email and I will be sure to dish out all the details.

For now, here are the cards!

This card features the Owl See You in the Spring stamp set from TCM, and some more lovely prints from Bety's shop.

I've added in some fabric and a pretty resin heart, as well as a beautiful pin from Maya Road.

Next up, a little anniversary card...

For this card, I used the I've Got Your Number set (also from TCM), to stamp the anniversary title. It is a set that I've enjoyed playing with many times since it first arrived at my doorstep! It is so versatile and lovely to have - truly a staple for any stamp collection.

Just below all the layers, I've also used the Sew Lovely stamp set to create the black label.

The papers on this card are by My Mind's Eye and Echo Park.

And no card of mine would be complete without a flower or a ribbon, so they have both made an appearance on this card!

~Shabby Cards~

Created these cards while I was at home.

Amongst all the down time, I loved some creative time with my mom...
It was so fun. She is not really that interested in paper crafting, but enjoys indulging in the simple act of snipping paper and stamping as a way to spend time with me.

She is such a sweet soul.

Now before I move onto the cards and get all sentimental on you - A very big thank you to all of you for the suuuuuuper sweet comments on my last post. Astrid, Vicky, Nadia, Jann, Ros, Cayla, Patty - Thank you so much for your kind words! Reading your comforting thoughts always brightens my day.

I am so happy to show you now what I worked on this past week while at home.
It was a true treat - creating from the heart :)

I played with these adorable stamps from TCM's Tweet of You set, stamping the birdcage, sentiment and darling little birdie onto some cream cardstock. The beautiful embossed label is from TCM's Season's Greetings stamp set.

I added in some lacey elements with a paper doily, lace trim, and a die-cut doily using this MFT die.

The paper on this card, is from Bety's shop, and you can find the design right here. You will love her vintage collages. They are stunning just as they are, but even more fun and beautiful to create with.

Here's another little card using Bety's pretty collage sheets. I've simply printed them onto white cardstock and used over and over again on these cards. You can find the pretty paper collage here, and the beautiful adore tickets here.

I've used Maya Road chipboard wings, and a lovely button stamp from this TCM stamp set.

Next up, another creation using Bety's beautiful artwork. This time, I used the flashcards.

I added a couple of doilies...some pretty paper flowers and pearls, as well as a wood button, which I've painted with a soft petal pink.

The postage stamp die from MFT is just the perfect size for framing sentiments on cards. The one on this card is cut out of cream cardstock, and slightly inked around the edges.

There is something about creating these cards that made my heart all warm and fuzzy.

I am so thankful, my dear friends, that I get days like that, to simply create.

There is nothing quite like staring at a blank paper, wondering where it will take you... Then, with some paper, a few ribbons, buttons, and stamps, (and a bit of imagination) pulling all the pieces together into something entirely new and unexpected.

I often create shabby chic things because I love the beauty of misfits. Nothing gives me more joy than taking items that have lost their luster, and might otherwise be headed for the dreaded disposal unit, and re-purposing them and giving them a home on my shabby creations...I love using up my little bits of scraps & treasures so much, that over time, my scrappy pile has dwindled down to almost nothing. I've strained my pile of 'junky treasures' so much that I now need to re-create shabby, worn trinkets in an attempt to mimic old and mismatched bits. But it is all a part of the fun.

Once I have all the desired pieces I want to use, I love to pull them together, with a splash of white-washed tones, and see what comes of them.

Over the years, I've been asked so many times to re-create my cards into shabby-style classes, but with items I use, which are so rare and usually one-of a kind items from my stash, a replica class of my projects has been an unreachable goal for me.

Until now :)

Recently, with a hope to share my shabby love, I ventured into something completely new. In an effort to make shabby chic design techniques accessible to everyone, I designed a Shabby Card & Box Kit for TCM.

I was so worried about ordering the products without seeing them, designing a kit based on these products and not knowing if they would capture the essence of my style, and I was mostly worried about the instruction process, because I am such a hands-on person myself. I was also worried about how difficult it would be for you all to replicate it.

Lisa was such an amazing help during the design process and made sure I had all the supplies I needed to pull off the look I so desperately wanted to share with you. I couldn't have done it without her help.

So, the kit has finally been released and I am so excited about it!

I hope at the very least that my kit will inspire you to give this beautiful style a try! And give you an insight into my shabby creations.

If inspiration is not enough and any of you nice ladies would like to try the kit itself, Lisa has mentioned that she has a very limited amount of them, so I hope you can snatch one up before they are all gone.

I hope to (one day soon) venture out of my own comfort zone and try a different style for myself. I have been very intrigued by all the mixed media art these days.

But for now I must be getting off the computer...It is strange how quickly time flies when you are having fun.

I promise I will be seeing you back here in a few days. Until then, I am going to keep chipping away at my to-do list.

~Home...~

Decided yesterday that I would drive home for a few days. I took these few days off work as far as last August, thinking that this week we might plan some type of a get-away. Mark got pulled away on a business trip, and I realized how much I needed to get done. So I kept my time off, scurrying this past weekend to tie up all the loose ends, accomplish all the little things that have been put off for far too long. It was a productive weekend, and a pretty emotional one too.

By the time Tuesday rolled around, I realized that all I really needed...I mean really, really needed, was some time off. Real time off. Not the kind that is filled with menial little tasks and a huge to-do list.

I knew if I stayed in the city, I would probably find ways to occupy my time and fail to do what I really need right now....Relax.

So I drove home yesterday. It was so strange. I can't remember the last time I had done that myself. Mark is always with me. It was nice in a way. I listened to girly music. Did a lot of thinking. Good thinking.

Got excited for many of the wonderful things coming up in my life. {I really needed that, by the way}

Got excited about a few days at home with my mom.

I love spending time with her. She is so warm and kind. Passionate and a good kind of crazy.

I picked up a couple of coffees before pulling up to the house. We had a great conversation about a lot of these things that have been on my mind. I always think being busy is good, but it's good to have nothing to do except talk once in a while too.

I also brought my scrappy bags home. I love our kitchen table and how bright and lively it is. It has always been my favorite place to craft. Not to mention the subtle sounds of family, love and comfort in the background, like a gentle reminder of the simple joys of life.

I really love my family, my home, my life. Sometimes I need a reminder and coming here always does the trick.

I also really love you all, and treasure how you fill my heart with a sense of belonging and happiness. You give me purpose to write and to create. Thank you.

I also love reading your comments. So kind and encouraging. They make me tear up. Happy tears, of course :)

I love getting your emails. I love staying connected and making friends from all over this beautiful world.

I love creating with you mind.

But today, I'm unsure if I will create anything... If I do, I'll post :)

For now, I am simply going to enjoy this day.

~TCM Reveal Blog Hop~

Welcome to the TCM blog hop! So happy to see you here!

The previews have been a blast! Thank you all for the lovely visits and wonderful comments!
Now it is time to move into the real festivities!

Today is all about showing off the gorgeous stamp sets that were lovingly designed by some of the most talented ladies in the industry. I am of course talking about Jenny Suchin, Nina Brackett, and Kaitlyn Ord! The fabulous designers of TCM stamps.

I've so enjoyed playing with all of your beautiful sets girls, and here is one card that features two stamp sets by Nina B: Sew Lovely and Tweet of You (although I wish I could have used all the sets!)

Created with a wedding congrats in mind, I used the beautiful Sew Lovely stamp and embossed in white for a sweet tag background. I added the sentiment to the paper hexagon and finished it off with a little stamped birdie from the Tweet of You stamp set...Which is simply too cute for words.

For the top of the card, I added my hand dyed ribbon and a pearl brad, as well as a white leaf (from my awesome friend Cayla who loves to spoil me - thank you sweets!!!)

Oh and I forgot to mention, the beautiful heart is also from Cayla and all the paper on this card is by MME.

~TCM Day Four: Sew Lovely~

I've been on a creative frenzy lately with these papers and beautiful TCM stamps and I am sad to say that this is our last day of previews. But with most bad news, there is a good part...And that is...That starting tomorrow, TCM will be hosting a fun blog hop with spectacular creations, full stamp reveals AND chance to win these lovely stamps!

So bear with me as I show you this last card, and then join me back here tomorrow to check out what all the buzz is about!

For this last card, I decided to play with one of my fave mask designs by Pink Paislee, and some Distress Ink.

After inking the design onto the card base, I outlined it using a brown maker. I love how this makes the design even more prominent. On either side of the masked designs, I stamped the oh-so-adorable little buttons from the Sew Lovely set. I went a step further and added stitches to the buttons as if they were the real deal :)

I wanted to do something else with the button stamps in the set, so I stamped a button with some soft pink ink, and then glued a clear button over top. I really love the way it turned out! It's a great way to add a splash of color to plain, clear buttons and a great way to add some stability and dimension to stamped button images.

I stamped a tag from the Sew Lovely set using brown ink and cut out both the outside and inside portions of the cardstock so that I would have a polka-dotted frame. Of course, what is a sew-y card without some pretty ribbon and pins, so I added those too! :)

~TCM Day Three: I've Got Your Number~

It's Day 3 of TCM stamp previews and I am so glad you stopped by for a little visit!

Wow! Your wonderful comments yesterday made me smile from ear to ear. Thank you all for your love and support (on my blog, on other galleries, and even on Pinterest - Betty Sue - I thought I recognized your name!)

I have a special card to share today, as it is in honor of my little niece, who will be turning 5 this year!
As I say that, I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone. It seems like only yesterday that she entered our lives, and she is now well on her way to becoming a grown-up...Well, not quite, but you get the idea!

I love her so dearly and I love making projects inspired by her. In a way, we are both so similar and love many of the same things.

So here is a card I've created with her in mind :)

A few more papers from MME's Follow Your Heart collection, along with a die cut star from this MFT die, and some white flourishes from my dear friend :)

I added a Prima Gillian Rose (love the frilly petals and the subtle glitter of these flowers), and a button from this Fancy Pants collection.

I used a beautiful number stamp from the 'I've Got Your Number' stamp set by The Craft's Meow, and I think this is my favourite numbers set by far! The numbers are a perfect size and the style of the numerals is so lovely.
I love how the set is perfect for those odd-ball anniversaries or birthdays...
I have a feeling that this stamp set is going to get a lot of use.
Seems like no matter how much I search, I seem to only find stickers and paper for 25th or 50th anniversaries... When we all know perfectly well, other birthdays and milestones are just as important and deserve to be celebrated all the same.

On the card base, I used another TCM stamp set, Lovely Labels 18 which I loooooove so much!
The labels are a constant I use in a lot of my creations and the best part is that they coordinate with Spellbinders dies!

Well, yet another post is over, and I am already looking forward to the next!

~TCM Day Two: Owl See You in the Spring~

Hello again! Glad to see you've come back for Day 2 of TCM previews!
As you might have guessed, I've stuck with many of the same products for this card as the one yesterday.
If you know me, you know that I love to create card sets and love how easy they are to pull together because all of your colors are tried and true and pretty much fool-proof.
Not to mention that when you are creating with limited time, it is a huge life-saver!

So let's move onto today's card featuring the 'Owl See You in the Spring' set by Jenny Suchin, an incredibly talented artist whose stamps always put a huge smile on my face! I love all the cute images in this set, and I especially loved the adorable chickadee in the half-cracked shell.
Seriously. Too. Cute.

I used a the same My Mind's Eye papers in for this card, from the Follow Your Heart and Miss Caroline collections. I seriously cannot get enough of this paper.

I feel like it was made for me. Thank you, Rhonna and Jen for all the beauty you create :) (BTW - if you love Rhonna's images, check out her awesome online digi store where you can buy more of her beautiful artwork and use it over and over again)

Okay back to my card and to the stamps...I stamped the darlin little chick onto some subtle pattern paper and cut it out...My Honey-Bees also got a good workout cutting out all the lovely roses and the other shapes on this card.

I die-cut the little star using this MFT die, and pierced it with a sweet Webster's Pages pin (have you seen all the beautiful Silhouettes, Pins and Sparklers by Websters?!?! I am dying to get me some!)

There I go again, getting off track...Back to the card.

I also added a pretty Gillian rose by Prima, and some liquid pearls here and there.

I couldn't resist my Prima sugarplum flowers (from way back when) a soft yellow button from Fancy Pants Summer's End collection, and another awesome resin flourish from my friend, Cayla!

And of course, what is a card without a little bit of liquid pearls? So I've added a few here and there!

~TCM Day One: Tweet Of You~

Hi everyone! Thanks for joining me for Day 1 of TCM stamp previews! I've created a little card featuring some lovely images from today's featured set. I completely and whole-heatedly love this stamp so much!
It is another design by Nina B. aka Stamp Creator Extraordinaire :)

Okie, so here is the card!

I was so excited to dig in and play with this month's stamps! How cute is that birdcage? And how about that saying? Now that I think of it, I should have probably used one of the cute little birds in the set...But I have a feeling they will show up on my other preview cards!

I was also itching to use this My Mind's Eye paper I just picked up at the shop.

The papers I used are mainly from the Follow Your Heart collection, and a couple from the Miss Caroline Howdy Doody line. I loooved this beautiful hex paper and this doily paper. I still have a few sheets of each of these, so I will be sharing a few more projects in the upcoming weeks with these beautiful papers.

I added some of my vintage pink shabby ribbon with a pearl brad, and outlined the lovely roses from this paper with a brown marker.

For the birdcage, I used a stamp from the Tweet of You set from TCM, I used a white pen to fill in some of the thicker horizontal 'bars'. I like the way this gives dimension to the image. I could have gone a step further to add some Stickles to the white parts, but that would have meant that I would have had to look for them...And that seemed like a lot of work at the time :) So I passed on the glitter.

I did, however, get to use a beautiful hand-made molded heart gifted to me by my sweet friend Cayla. (Thank you Cayla!!!) She has a wonderful blog that you should check out, and has a post here that features some more ideas with her resin shapes.

~Lovely Tags & A Wedding Update~

Howdy everyone! Remember a while back I mentioned I would show you my creation using Beatriz' (Iralamija's) beautiful tags (the one she so kindly gifted to me). Well, I've finally photographed my creation, and here it is!

In addition to the lovely tags, I used a pretty vintage cream paper from Echo Park, and a soft pink paper from the Cotton Tail Collection by WRMK.

I wanted to use one of my favorite TCM stamps on this card (from the Lovely Labels 18 set). It is such a versatile set with so many wonderful label designs and wonderful sayings.

I embossed the image in white (although not very well - can you see my poor embossing on the upper corner? ooops) and then cut it (by hand) on the outside and inside.

The little pennant is from this Love Banner Maya Road set, painted in green and cream , and glittered with a chunky glitter.

For the lace, I tried I new technique...Sort of by accident. I wanted to add a bit of green to the card, so I inked the lace with embossing ink, and covered the lace with a lime green embossing powder.

It was lovely, but slightly over-powering for this soft card. So I turned it around, and found that the green on the other side provides an ever-so-slight shading, which is just the softness I was looking for!

I used Bety's tags a few different ways on the card. I separated the words from the rest of the tag so that I could add a little tab on the side of the card. I also cut out some of the pretty roses so that I could layer them onto the creamy card base. I love playing with these beautiful images and if you want to try it out, you can purchase the tags here, and once you have the file, simply print onto card stock and enjoy!

~Every.Single.Day.~

Hello friends! Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday evening.
We've been so focused on our wedding planning, that we needed to take some time out and get out of the city and all the madness. So we escaped last weekend for a lovely visit at home.

Having a little break is always so nice...Especially when it is shared with family.

While at home, I had a bit of time to go over some recent comments and emails from all of you and I am so thankful for each and every visit and all the sweet words!

Also, I recently entered a card + box duo into a contest held by Bety! I was so excited to see my creations featured on her blog...So a HUGE thank you to Bety for featuring my card and for the lovely prize...What an incredible honour!!! I've been playing with the collage set she so kindly gifted to me, and I will have projects to show very soon.

Now onto my project for the day..

Another Valentine's card (really been loving all the love-day stuff) created with all of you in mind.

I'm dedicating this V-day card to all of you

Created with few soft colored papers and a lot of layers...I used a few different stencil shapes (from years of collecting tags, which I keep in a pile to use over and over again as stencils).
I also used a beautiful new embossing folder by Tim Holtz, and a Prima rose.

For this card, I used the larger die-cut doily die from this set from MFT stamps, and the smaller scalloped die-cut is from this Spellbinders set.

I used one of my fave stamps (the beautiful heart with all the text) from this Vintage Blue Glitz stamp set.
For the edges I used the Antique Linen Distress Ink and to ink the embossed 'love' I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

I am off to have a warm cup of tea and try and pick our wedding song...Wish me luck!

~An Apple A Day...~

Hi friends, how are you all doing tonight?
We have had some bad news about a dear friend, and I have had a very hard time dealing with the news today...Mostly because I feel as if sometime the worst of things happen to the kindest of people.
I know that life is not always easy, but for some people, the hardships never seem to end...

My heart goes out to our friend, and makes me feel so blessed.
Sometime daily life can take away our perspective from all the blessings we truly have...I have to remind myself constantly to be thankful for all the treasures in my life. And I am.

I thankful for my family, my friends, for all of you who read my little blog, my art, my home...And so many other things that others can only dream of ...

So I thought I would pay tribute to something that I am thankful for...Despite how small...

I love apples and everything they represent.
I love budding apple blossoms in the spring, the warmth of apple cider on a cold winter's night , the smell of freshly baked apple pie, the tartness of fresh apple juice, and every once in a while, just a good, 'ole fashioned 'apple a day' :)

I found these adorable stamps that were just perfect for my apple card! So I decided to combine a Valentine's themed card, this card by this week's Color Room pallette, and my love of apples!

If you've never visited the Color Room, I would say you must! Every once in a while, when I am low on inspiration, I love to visit color challenge blogs and galleries and get inspired by some wonderful color combos! The Color Room has such beautiful color inspirations and creations by so many talented artists, that one cannot help but feel inspired when browsing through all the art...

Other products I've used on this card...Postage stamp chipboard by Maya Road, frame stamped in green from The Craft's Meow (Lovely Labels 18), apple stamp set from WRMK, and postage die from MFT.

For the trim, I've used Maya Road crocheted trim. For the sides of the card, I used green embossing powder to change the color. This is so easy to do! Simply ink your trim with clear embossing ink, and sprinkle your favourite embossing powder color, and use a heat gun to set. Hope you give it a try sometime!

~Celebrating Love Day~

Before I get to my projects, I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments about my wedding post! It has been so great to hear all the advice and support you've so kindly shared. I adore hearing all of your suggestions and comments...I really do. :)

I will be posting another entry soon, so, in the meantime,

I am back with some love-day projects!

This time, I wanted to create a card and a box that was truly shabby chic. I had purchased these lovely prints from an uber-talented card maker and digi-extraordinaire Beatriz Jennings. If you have not seen her work, you simply must check it out! Her creations are so very beautiful and inspirational.

And her Etsy shop is full of yummy goodies!

I've used two of her designs on these projects. The Bella Rose collage sheet, and the Always Flashcards collage sheet. They are so easy to use! Once you purchase them from her Etsy shop, you simply open the file and print it on cardstock. What could be easier than that?

Of course, no shabby project would be complete without some of my favourite Maya Road treasures. Here, I've used a chipboard kettle (covered with paper), lovely crocheted trim, and a vintage heart pin. (p.s. Aside from the paper & vintage items I've used, you can find ALL of the items at Scrapbook Studio)

Here you can see that I've mixed in some vintage lace, a paper doily and a shabby rose...Items I've had in my stash for a while now. That is what I love so much about shabby design. It is so easy to incorporate all the little 'misfits' you might have...They only add to the charm of your creations :)

I also wanted to showcase my new favorite die by Sizzix. It is a die of four hearts, and the shape is somewhat elongated, not like your typical heart dies. I love it so much! The sizes of the hearts are perfect for card making :)

I've also created a little tea box to go along with this card. I actually re-purposed an old Tetley tea box, by covering it with some of the pretty papers from B's Shop.

I embellished the box with more doilies, trim and the same lovely Maya Road pin...

I used my brand new Tim Holtz embossing folder to create the little embossed heart, and then I added some white liquid pearls to the outline.

Now to find some treats to fill this little box with...Maybe a trip to the candy store is in order?

~A Helping Hand & A New Blogging Adventure~

I suppose it is time that I reveal my big news to you!

It is no surprise that my fiance and I have had a fun time planning our upcoming wedding for the past year.
I mean, when you are getting married here...

How could you not be excited?

That is not to say that the planning has come without its challenges.

When you are thousands of miles away from your wedding destination, you are bound to be bombarded with many bumps along the way.

Destined for sleepless nights in an attempt to make our dream wedding come to reality, it wasn't until a little while ago that we decided, despite our best efforts, that we could not to do this one alone. It was plain to see...We had bitten off more than we could chew.

And so it all began...

A search.

A seemingly endless search.

For the right person...

Someone to be our eyes and ears and a helping hand in this monstrous planning process.

At first, the task seemed impossible. So many wonderful testimonials to go through. So many beautiful websites and pictures to view. SO many emails and endless questions back and forth....

And when it came time to make the decision, we felt beyond thrilled.

We knew that we had found that special person.

Talented. Professional. Kind. Smart. Personable. Creative. Organized. Experienced.

Well, you get the drift....The list really does go on :)

In short, we found ALL the things we were looking for.

So let us introduce you to a person whom we will be forever thankful to for the help we have had thus far and the ongoing help for the next 7 months to come...As we lead up to our wedding day :)

~A Few Oldies~

Hi Everyone! Have I told you how awesome you all are?

Thank you so much for the sweet words on my last post.

I am so lucky to have you all.

Of course, I now must ensure that I stay true to my promise and ease up a bit on the breaks.

So I figured I'd post something quickly, before I get too comfortable...

Tonight, I want to show you a few very simple cards I created a while back using my lovely TCM stamps.

Somehow I forgot/misplaced the pictures and finally had some time today to photograph them again...

Here they are!

I wanted the cards to be simple & cute. I usually use layers upon layers of papers, but for these cards I held back.

It was soooo difficult. But I think I did ok?

I used a lot of Prima paper on these cards from this lovely paper pack. It's FULL of yummy pastel ledger papers...Just my sort of thing :)

Of course, I also used a few Prima blooms, mostly from this set.

On this particular card, I used one of my all time fave stamp sets from TCM, Lovely Birds. It is soooo darn cute!

Here, I've used TCM's As We Gather Together stamp set. This set is full of fall sentiments & images. Love it to bits! Other items on card: black Prima flower, and the same paper as used in the other cards.

Lastly, I used the Beggin Some Rays stamp set...Which is packed with cute little sun images and lovely sayings.

I forgot to mention that I used quite a bit of die-cutting for these cards.

The doilies I used are from My Favorite Things. The Scalloped Circles and Tags are from Spellbinders.

I have a very busy night of wedding stuff to do tonight (hint: read my p.s. note below), so I am signing out! Hope you have a lovely evening!

~At Last~

I am back :)
I didn't imagine it would take this long. Really. It just sort of...happened.

Not that anything crazy has been going on in my life. I suppose with the holidays, the transition into the New Year (and a new mind frame) and the wedding....Blogging sort of took a back seat.

I know! It's terrible! I didn't mean to leave you all hanging dry! For a little while, I wasn't sure if any of my followers would remain after this looooooong break... Nor if anyone would still want to visit my blog....

I really have to thank you all for your patience and continued support while I've taken this break in posting.
It was much-needed and I am so happy to be back!

I want to share several cards with you today...Although inspired by Valentine's, these cards are anything but! They can be used for so many more occasions.

I was merely inspired by the lovely colors of this wonderful day :)

I've used some papers I've been wanting to dig into for a while...Like the beautiful Authentique paper and this gorgeous MME paper.

What really helped me pull these cards together...A beautiful quote card from Authentique. I used several of the quotes in the cards...

This particular card I left blank. It's so nice to have a few blank cards that work for various occasions.

I also incorporated this beautiful paper by Echo Park, as well as this one with all the teensy little hearts (love!)

And lastly, I used a lovely heart stamp by WRMK to create these two cards.

Here are a couple of group shots...I think the cards look even cuter all together like this, than on their own.

~Christmas Greetings~

It feels like this week has crept up so quickly! It could have something to do with the fact that there is almost no snow on the ground, or the fact that the temperature has stayed at an unusually pleasant level...Or it could be because this year was so busy that I haven't had much of a chance to catch up with time...

Whatever it may be, I am glad that the Season's festivities are upon us!

I am looking forward to the family time, the yummy food, and a little break.

It will be just what the doc prescribed :)

I have several projects to show you today, so bear with me!

First up, I have some cards and a decorated box created with Webster's Pages products!

I know these are unusual colors for the holidays, but every once in a while, I really like to switch it up!

Besides, with a few birthdays that linger around this time of year, I have a feeling that these wintery, all-occasion cards & box will come in handy!

I've used a combination of Western Romance and Country Estate.

I say it time and time again, and I really do love just how well all of Webster's papers coordinate so nicely together! If you are anything like me, you probably have a pile of papers (that go waaaaay back) and although the prospect of yummy new designs can derail you from you using these old beauties, it is always nice to go back and use up some of that 'stash! I love that Webster's inspires me to do this. Every time I look at one of their new papers, I always think of how lovely they will look with a paper from one of their previous collections! And it never seems to fail :)

For the cards I've used this paper, the gorgeous Western Romance journalling cards, fabric tickets, sparklers, and beautiful snowflake dies by MFT Stamps!

The lovely roses on the cards and on the little box, as well as the shiny little pearls, are both by Prima.

Next up, I have a couple of decorated tins I wanted to show you! I got my inspiration from one of my favourite artists, Melissa Phillips. If you know her work, you will know that it is truly one of a kind.

I wanted to use up some old Christmas tins I had, but wanted to give them a new life, so I took a page from Melissa's book and decided to spray paint them.

Originally, they were to be used to package up treats for my sweet friends, however, I realized after packing one up, that the smell of spray paint doesn't seem to ease up over time...So all of the goodies ended up smelling like chemically-laden baked goods...

So I opted for plan B - and forgot to photograph, of course - but I think my second option was a much better solution for the little gifts.

I still wanted to show you the tins, which will hopefully get their fair share of Christmas action - I plan to stuff them with non-edible gifts :)

~Once Upon a Sketch~

Back again at OUAS, showing off another beautiful sketch! I loved working with this sketch design!
So here's what I've come up with!

Another card, using some lovely papers and a few other toppings. I've stamped a few images like the beautiful sentiment from this Dylusions set, and a the lovely doilies from this MME stamp.

The stringed beads and little cherub are a craft store find. The beautiful note paper and blue flower are by Prima.

And some white paint (to unify all the letters that started out with slightly different colors) and a pinch of glitter!

This tag came together so quickly and it is a perfect addition to any present!

~Dusty Attic and Webster's Pages Swap!~

Hi Ladies (& any gents that might be visiting)!

Stopping in today quickly to post something that is long overdue!

You know life is getting away from you when you are posting projects weeks after their debut! lol

This is a creation I did a while back using a lovely combination of products from Dusty Attic and from Webster's Pages. I love doing product swaps :) Most of my projects are created from a collection of goodies, and it is nice to swap with purpose and get to do so for DT layouts!

Also, this is a picture of my niece and myself, taken in the autumn,and I had been wanting to scrap it for some time now. The beautiful laser cut chipboard from Dusty Attic had me in LOVE with all the possibilities and I felt inspired to create a layout. I thought of this picture instantly!

Although not my colors, I decided to give the palette a whirl...What do you think?

It could have been worse, right? Just kidding!

I figure there is still enough white, lace and florals to make me smile :)

Here is a close up of all the layers...

I used a Maya Road mini wood ruler (and I added some white paint to lighten the surface slightly).
The Dusty Attic chipboard piece was painted with a lovely shade of green from a Jenni Bowlin paint dabber
and the beautiful doily die cut is form this gorgeous set, made by My Favorite Things. Their die collection is fantastic...So many cute designs to choose from!

The stamped floral images are from this Glitz stamp set, and the stamped numbers are from a 7 Gypsies set that I adore! It is all about numbers..How cute!

All other items on this page are from Webster's Pages. I mixed in several collections including Winter Fairy Tales, Botanical Christmas, and Western Romance.
I've added in some Sparklers, Storyteller Alphas, and lovely Fabric Trim.

Today I am feeling a bit under the weather...But that can't stop me from doing all that I have planned.
I've got the perfect batch of sugar cookies (a dear friend's recipe!) waiting in the fridge, many cards and Christmas projects to make, and some last minute Christmas shopping to do.

Without further ado, here's the card I created using one of my fave stamps from this release!

(I have to apologize for my dreadful pics - I only had time to photograph after work today, and for anyone that lives around this part of the world - you know that by the time I get home - it's already dark!...But I really hope you get the picture of what it's supposed to look like:)

If you visit my blog often, you will notice that I like to pick a color palette and play with it in different ways for several cards at a time. It is especially nice to do this if I decide to give away any of my cards as sets...They match so perfectly and allow me to use up any scraps I might have.

For this card, I used the Winterland collection once again, and a few other little items from my stash...

I had an old chipboard heart (that was a veeeeery bright pink color) which I painted white and distressed. I stumbled across some cute pink flowers while cleaning up my scrappy space a while back and thought they worked perfectly on this card!

Of course the star of the show is the lovely stamp which is from the 'Sent with Love' stamp set :)

Just when I think I could not fall more in love with TCM stamps, another darling set finds its way into my heart!
'Warm Winter Wishes' is our feature stamp set today and it is every bit as adorable and wonderful as it sounds!

Here's my card

I don't know what's cuter - the adorable little mittens, or the steamy, hearty cup...Or how about the heartfelt sentiments, snowflakes, scarves and hats...Ahhh it is all just too sweet for words!

I've used very few other items on this card...I loved playing with the stamps way too much!

Oh what a lovely set we have for you today :)

Here's my card with just a little peek of all the beauty that this stamp features!

Soft, subtle tones of this Fancy Pants collection, work perfectly with the love-y sentiments and hearts in this set.

I used this Martha Stewart punch and a handmade crinkled ribbon bow...

The key I used was coated in a crackle paint...I just love the instant age it adds!

~A New Year~

Hi Everyone! I am here to share my creation for Day Two of The Craft's Meow stamp previews!

Today's featured set is entitled "Happy New Year" and is a wonderful collection of images and sentiments.

I love making New Years cards...I always have a tough time finding stamps and papers for this holiday that is so lovingly celebrated by my family back home...Every now and then, I like to send a card, and this one will be perfect! And given that it is only the beg. of December...It might even reach my Nona in time!

I've used a few more of the lovely Fancy Pants Winterland papers....A beautiful mini vintage ornament star, and a few other embellies like the perfect lil button (also by Fancy Pants) and teensy little silver stars.

~Sending Smiles~

Hi everyone! I want to show off two cards I've just created using my new Craft's Meow stamps!

We've held off the previews a little bit this time around, so today we are officially starting to show sneaks of the upcoming stamp artwork! The first card I have for you was created with one of my fave releases to date...A stamp set called 'Lovely Labels'. It is so versatile and fun to use! I think you will love it!

Here is a close up of the stamped images I have layered on this card...

On this card, I've used Fancy Pants Winterland paper, a heart resin embellishment and a Prima flower.

It's not your typical card, in that it does not flip open...Instead, I've created a pocket at the back to stuff with lovely little tags and messages...

For the second card, I've used the 'Sent With Love' stamp set from The Craft's Meow.

Along with more pretty Fancy Pants paper.

I love the sentiments in this set...So sweet and thoughtful!

Don't you just adore that font? This set is packed with other yummy sayings like this one!

I have a busy day of designing and Christmas shopping today. Are you all ready for the holidays?
My goal is to have everything done by the 10th...Only a week away.

~Once Upon a Sketch~

Hi friends! I promise I am still here! Stopping by today to say hello and share a little creation with you!

Recently, I was invited by my dear friend, Nadia Cannizzo, to join her spectacular challenge blog, Once Upon a Sketch, as a guest designer for the month of December! My heart fluttered a little bit because I have never really been very successful with sketches and interpreting them into my own work. Somehow my creations always steer their own path and I end up with something entirely different...

So I thought about the challenge and decided that it was time I learned how to follow a sketch! No better way to do so, than with a sketch challenge blog like Nadia's, if you ask me! The artistry on her blog is such an inspiration and all it took was a simple visit, to make me say, YES, I'd love to do it!!!

So here is the sketch and journalling challenge I got to use as inspiration!

December 1st Challenge

Journalling Criteria/theme: The thing I look most forward to in December.

Write at least 2 sentences on what you look forward to in the next month. December is a festive month so your journalling could be about the Christmas season, the holidays, the presents or if you do not celebrate Christmas what does December bring for you that you look most forward to? Note:You layout DOES NOT have to be about Christmas! It can be about anything December brings.

Other ideas for journalling: an annual holiday or celebration, a specific event such as putting up the Christmas tree or pre Christmas traditions you might have leading up to Christmas, family time, snow covered fields or warmer weather, time off work, school holidays, change of weather, new season fruit.

And here is my creation!

I chose to create a card and focus on one of my favourite quotes....I really enjoy going home for the holidays. Home really is where the heart is!

The Christmas holidays are really the only time of the year that I get to be with my family for more than a weekend, and it is pretty much the only time that we are all there together. It also helps that my fiance's family lives in the same town, so it minimizes our travels quite a bit and we are all able to be together for Christmas! We usually get at least a full week of visiting at home and it is wonderful!

For this card, I used the Simple Stories Generations paper..

And spent some quality time with my scissors :) I just adore fussy cutting!

For the background, I used this Prima stamp, and some Distress Inks to soften the harsh white. The little cherub is an item I found in a craft store quite a while ago, which I distressed and painted white.

I am so happy that I decided to join the challenge and try and stick to the sketch inspiration! It wasn't easy....But I think I could get good at this...Or at least, I hope!

~Do you ever feel this way?~

Hello all! I took some time this morning to reflect upon the past several months...I always get into a very reminiscent mood this time of year. Could be the approaching new year, could be that things usually slow down at this time allowing me some time to think...

I can't say that I have any regrets from this previous year, only tiny reminders of things I could have avoided/done differently. None too important to dwell on right now...

But what really stood out for me, were all the thoughts of things I had accomplished and moments I've treasured... Taking the time to reminisce about some of my favourite days.

My thoughts brought me to this past summer...
We normally travel in the summer, and this past year was an exception...We actually stayed put. For the whole summer! And you know what? It was kind of nice.

Sure we were busy. But we always are. As hard as it is sometime, I've learned just how important it is to take a time out. Even if it means that you have to say no to someone or something. Even if you feel beyond guilty about taking a day or two for just yourself and your family. It isn't always easy, but it is always worth it.

One of my favorite days happened to fall right on the busiest weekend at our store. It was sooooo hard for me to take that personal time. The truth is, my parents were coming in for a muchly over-due visit, and our plans had been set in place long before we had known of the events that would be going on that weekend at the store.

It was hard to not be there. But as I look back, I am so glad I took the time to cherish every minute with my parents here.Our time together was wonderful.

One of the places we visited is a well-known acreage a little ways out of the city...It's the kind of place where you can really feel at one with the nature...The owners have done a wonderful job turning the entire area into an unforgettable experience...They provide everything from a u-pick, to a fabulous little restaurant and even a cute gift-shop...Not to mention the charming nursery on-site and the acres upon acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.

We spent an entire afternoon there, enjoying the fresh air and all the scenery.

I took quite a few photos, and this one is probably my favourite of the day. It captures exactly what I think of when I think of that day.
Content. Serenity. Family. Time Well Spent.

So after months of scrapbooking hiatus, I found my inspiration.
With just a few thoughts, and a picture of my mom, I sat down, and for the first time in a long time, I didn't want to create a card, or an altered item, or even a mini album. I wanted to create a layout.
One perfect page. Of a perfect day. And my idea of a perfect person.

It really does make a difference when you create from the heart. All the little details on this layout would have normally been too tedious for me if I was rushing to get a project done, or if I was trying to create in between work, deadlines, and all of life's other important things. That's one of the reasons cardmaking is my preferred creative outlet. Despite all the detail, with a card, I can still create something special in a period of time that works with my life.

But for this page, I took the time. I am so glad I did. I love the way it turned out.

I used soft colors not only because I love them, but also because that is something my mom and I share.

She loves the soft pastels just as much I as I do.

I thought Kaiser Craft's beautiful collection was perfect for this.

I worked in some softly glittered Prima blooms and a handful of shabby little roses I bought from Michael's a while back.

To work in the pink color - which was surprisingly hard to find - I painted a few of the chipboard buttons and the pretty Webster's Pages grand lace.

The words are from a Diction sticker sheet by Authentique. It's a fabulous collection of words, in just the right size, for just about any topic. Once you start playing with them...Let me tell you...

I know you'll love em as much as I do :)

I guess it's not that my inspiration for scrapbooking ever really left..I suppose I just needed a break, more than anything.

My thoughts this morning left me with a desire to re-live some of the perfect moments of the year past, and I just felt this need to scrapbook this photo and bring the good moments back to life.

Do you ever feel this way?

~Ornaments~
Hi y'all! I hope you are having a lovely Thursday morning :)

I have been busy creating Xmas decor for the past little while...Did you see my shabby banner in the post below?

I thought I would continue with the trend and whip up some decorations for my tree as well!

(The tree skirt I promised is still a little ways away...Hopefully I can get it done in time for this holiday season)

Today, I will share a few ornaments I've created, using ordinary household items and how I've dressed them up with some of my favourite Webster's embellishments!

But first, I want to share a pic of my tree (which, btw, has been up for almost two weeks now! lol)

Can you tell which ornaments are handmade?

I know, you probably can, but I just wanted to share this pic as I couldn't believe how fun and easy it was to create ornaments that would fit my theme so perfectly...Ornaments that I could not find anywhere else!

Remember how I said I used basic household items to create these? The first ornament features a flower-like bloom that I created from unbleached coffee filters. Along with some help from Webster's bloomers, push pins and crocheted lace, it was a total snap to put together!

Next up, I re-purposed an old jar lid and added more yummy Webster's embellishments like the beautiful lace (which I painted) and a lovely vintage cameo silhouette (which also got a generous coating of paint and some glitter too!)

For this ornament, I scavenged the house and found an old cotton serving napkin - One that had lost all it's companions somewhere along the way...But not it's charm!

With no need for just one, I thought I'd make better use of it!

So I traced two identical star templates, cut them out and created a little hand-sewn star!

Oh and here's the kicker - As you know, I am not very sew-savvy, so unless I wanted to tear apart one of my beloved pillows, I knew stuffing for this star would be impossible to find in my home...So what did I use?

Kleenex, of course! This time of year, there always seems to be an abundance of tissues kicking around the house :)

To top off my ornament, I used a combo of tinsel trim and another pretty cameo silhouette!

Lastly, I added in a few more household elements for this ornament, like a coffee filter flower, wooden spool and some more of the beautiful fabric from my napkin, combined with a cameo from Webster's Pages and their beautiful, sparkly, tinsel trim!

With the weekend fast approaching, I hope this inspires you to create some ornaments yourself!
Wouldn't they make the loveliest gift?

~Shabby Ruffles~

I've finally completed my latest project....A shabby, Noel banner for the housey :)

I've looked many times for such a banner at local stores, and never had much luck in finding one...Figured it was best to dive into the project myself, as I could then make it exactly the way I had envisioned it...

I knew I wanted pale, shabby colors...And a good dose of glittery goodness...
I used this aaaaaaamazing Basic Grey paper, and a lots of chunky, vintage glitter for these alphas that have been in my stash for as long as I can remember :) They started out black, but with a touch of glue and lots of glorious glitter...They have been revived!
There's nothing quite like a good re-purpose :)

I added a few chunky buttons, and some vintage note paper...And the rest of the banner practically put itself together.

Ha who am I kidding?

I wish it was that easy!

Actually, it was quite a laborious (I really hope that that's a real word) procedure....

Between the 'shredded' paper flowers, and coffee filter blooms...It was quite a feat by the time all the pieces were ready to be assembled.

I also wanted to incorporate a bit of texture...Which I added to this banner with this netting fabric I had picked up a while back.

I can still remember the look on the fabric store lady's face who must have thought I was mad for purchasing this odd-looking netting...

She gave me the 'what in the world will you ever do with this' look...And wasn't shy about it either!

Probably thinking that I was nothing more than a confused girl, hoping to sew a homely sweater out of the gawdy fabric that has been on their shelves since the 1800's...

I am not going to lie - her suspicious and judgmental looks might have had something to do with the fact that I only bought half as much of the fabric I originally intended to...

Now that I look back, I wish I had bought the entire roll.

Since that fateful trip, I have never been able to find something similar to this material elsewhere...

It's a lot more pliable than burlap and it feels a lot softer too. I love the loosely netted look.

Oh how I wish I had piles and piles of it left!

I thought I'd immortalize it in this banner so that even when it has dissappeared from my stash, I'll always have a small reminder remaining.

I have really grown fond of this fabric...Who would have thought?

Anyway, enough about my love affair with my beloved textile...I bet you just want to see the finished project.

So here it is! Our newest Christmas decor addition!

Next up on the project list - a handmade tree skirt!

~Good Cheer~

Hi everyone! Before I wrap up this week's posts, I want to say a sincere thank you for joining me this past week! I've had such fun sharing my Christmas cards with you all! Here's the last card of this set, using all the same items I've used in the previous cards! If you're interested, just scroll down to the other posts to get links of items I've used on all the cards.

I've had such fun with the challenge of using only a selected amount of goodies on these cards...I had a pile of papers, few stamps, a color or two of ink and a handful of tiny treasures like buttons, ribbons, and little metal hangers...I couldn't believe just how quickly these cards came together when I focused only on what I had in front of me...

For this card, I played a little bit with some liquid pearls to create a snowy effect on the teeny tree...A dash of glitter was all it took to spruce up this rustic card with a bit of holiday sparkle!

I added a paper banner with a button center, along with a stamped sentiment from my most favourite Christmas stamp by Technique Tuesday!

I will have many more Christmas projects coming up, but this is it for today folks! Hope you are having a wonderful day wherever you may be, and thank you for stopping by!

~Season for Family & Friends~

Back again with another card today! And what a perfect winter day to blog about the upcoming holidays....

We had the pleasure of enjoying our first snowstorm of the season while driving home...Now that we are here, we get to enjoy a few peaceful days...And I plan to get my little hands busy with a few projects I've been meaning to start for a while now.

Before I get to work though, I'll share today's card with you!

This is one of the last cards I have to share with you...Again, a very simple design, that takes many of the same elements from my previous posts, just incorporated in a different way!

In addition to the pretty paper I've used on this card (which is where I found this glorious vintage image of Santa Claus) I used these beautiful stamps and a few teeny treasures from my stash....Like the darling buttons and teensy jingle bell.

I added a few other elements like some baker's twine and white paint for a handmade touch.

~Tis the Season~

Hi y'all!
Here to share my card for today! I didn't forget...However, today has been a busy day!
My sweetheart got his wisdom teeth pulled this morning and I am the 'officer on duty'... :)

I am so happy that this is happening now rather than two months fast forward... It should be plenty of time for him to heal and be ready for all the yummy goodies the holiday season brings about!

Speaking of the holiday season, here's another Christmas-y card for you!

Another simple creation, with a few of my favourite elements like this pretty paper from Authentique...

A beautiful ribbon from Maya Road, with the lovely sparkle of this crystal chandelier drop (also from Maya Road)...

A few stamps and a bit of distressing...And viola!

~Christmas Tags~

Quick post for today friends! It's been a busy morning...

So, I'm sharing a quick tag I made to accompany the cards I've been showing this week...

Simple and fun to make! Nothing but some paper, a few fussy-cut details, some lovely ribbon and a pretty sparkly accent! Plenty of room to write the recipients name on the back and even some room for a heartfelt sentiment!

~Most Wonderful Time~

Hi everyone! Although you'll be reading this tomorrow - I'm sitting here right now, after a long day, admiring our hard work...

Our tree, finally decorated, now stands tall and warms our room with a gentle glow and a beautiful holiday sparkle...The cider, slowly simmering, permeates every corner of the house with a much-loved, Christmas-y scent...

Our home has once again been transformed for the season, and it feels so good to finally get into the spirit of the upcoming holidays...

I love getting ready for the holiday season, and before I run off to finish up my latest holiday project (I'm working on a garland of sorts - stay tuned!), I am here to share another of my Christmas card creation! Hope it helps to get you in the Christmas spirit too!

This card is just another version of essentially the same basic ingredients as in the post prior.

It's so fun and easy to create when you have all you need right at your fingertips...For this card, I used the same Authentique paper, from the Wonder collection...Combined with a bit of kraft cardstock and some fun with stamping!

I stamped a couple of snowflakes and used basic baker's twine with a Tim Holtz mini hanger to add some interest to this simple card...

The framed chipboard piece added some much needed dimension to the card, and my trusty Distress Inks (Black Soot and Frayed Burlap) were used to distress bits and pieces around the card as well as for the stamping..

To finish off the card, I added a tiny sentiment from this Technique Tuesday stamp set...

~A Merry Little Christmas~

Hi friends! Today, I am starting a new challenge for myself! I will be posting every day this week to show how you can use some very simple ingredients in creating lovely Christmas cards and tags. Simplicity is key, this time of year, as we all know. With the hoards of Christmas cards I have to make (and I'm sure you do too), I decided the best way to tackle the task would be to keep it simple! I've picked a color palette and a few key items and I thought I'd just dive right in! No fuss - just tons of crafting fun!

Look what I've come up with:

Here's a sneak of the several variations of cards and tags I've created. I cannot wait to show them all to you!

I thought about waiting until tomorrow to feature the first card, but that would be no fun, right?

So here is the first card!

I've used a few beautiful papers from the Authentique Wonder collection, Kraft card stock and a lot of stamping and inking using one of my have Distress Ink colours, Frayed Burlap.

The stamped sentiment is form a gorgeous Christmas stamp set by Technique Tuesday...Love it to bits!

I used an EK Success punch for the black border...

And a beautiful sentiment from Authentique notables!

~Webster's Pages Door Hanger~

Hi everyone! Back again with another home decor Christmas creation!
I've wanted to decorate this door hanger for a while now...And I thought the Botanical Christmas collection from Webster's would be just the perfect fit!

I've used this beautiful paper by Webster's Pages....

Along with some buttons and snowflakes from my stash...

This beautiful Webster's Pages Silhouette...

And a vintage spool with a jingle bell - I couldn't resist!

The wooden buttons I used got a generous coating of paint before joining their Christmasy-red counterparts!

I think I'll put this lovely piece near my X-mas tree or maybe on one of our doors - go figure! :)

I loooooooved creating this Christmas wall hanging with the beautiful papers in this line!

For fun, I added the Christmas postcard so that if you wish to gift it to someone special during the holidays, it can be a fun twist on a typical greeting card and it is something they can cherish and display for a long time to come.

Or if you like it as much as I like mine, you can always keep it for yourself! :)

Here's a close up of the beautiful postcard I've used from this paper.

I die-cut a few doilies and tags out of this paper (the plain parts), and then I added a 'postcard' banner from the backside of this paper.

I've also stamped a few images in a matching red and green ink to add a bit of color to the plain, wood frame....

And I've added a few pennants at the top of the frame from this Webster's paper....

I want to share with you a creation I had wanted to do for some time now. I was origionally going to do something like this (with this spool in mind) for Easter ...
Then, I thought it would be fun to do a fall-themed centerpiece with this spool...But before I knew it, fall was almost over...

So when I saw these stamps, I knew they were just the thing I was waiting for!
They inspired me to dig out this lil vintage spool and get crafty! Just in time for the holiday season upon us....
So here's what I did!

Instead of a plain greeting card, I thought it would be fun to create something that is more of a ornament/decor item, that can still be given away as a holiday greeting to someone special!

The large snowflake is from Melissa Frances. I've painted it, distressed it, and then glittered it (with several layers and types of glitter)...Then I added a stamped snowflake (Vintage Snowflakes set) image and one of my handmade buttons in the center...Along with a stamped sentiment (Season's Greetings set)

The spool also got a generous coating of paint, followed by some distressing, some twine, a stamped sentiment (Season's Greetings set), and some pretty findings like trim, a crystal pin and a button :)

For the top of the spool, I stamped the lovely snowflake image onto white cardstock with brown ink, and cut it out. I adhered it to the top of the spool before I added the snowflake!

Soooooo glittery and full of holiday cheer!

~The Most Wonderful Time of the Year~

Hi y'all! Today I am so excited to share with you, not one, but TWO cards for the two stamp sets we are previewing today from TCM! First up, a card that features a beautiful stamp set designed by Nina B.
Vintage Snowflakes....

I love, love, LOVE this stamp set so much!!!! I could have stamped snowflakes for days!
The sentiments in the set are also just beautiful....The way they almost resemble beautiful ironwork...Truly vintage and so special!

You'll get tired of my color palette pretty soon, I'm sure...But I wanted to stick with the same colors so that it could make my card creating quick and easy and so that it would all coordinate with my gift wrap this year! (Will be sure to share at a later date)

I've added all the color to the card using distress inks. Aside from the kraft paper, the rest of the paper on this card (and the next one) started out completely white.

After some distressing and stamping...It looks perfectly vintage!

I added in some baker's twine, Tim Holtz tissue tape, and a glittered snowflake and some white Prima rhinestones to finish off this card...

Next up, a card featuring another set designed by Nina B...And perhaps my favorite of this release...
Vintage Ornaments...

Oh, how I LOVE this stamp set!!!! Words do not even begin to describe how beautiful the ornaments are!
I can't wait until November 1st to show you the full stamp set images! They are truly gorgeous! Not to mention that all of the greetings fit perfectly inside the lil ornaments! How awesome is that?!

Here's a close up of the little bow/rose/distressed jingle bell :)

And a close up of the beautiful ornament, which I have layered with a Melissa Frances chipboard snowflake. Just under the pretty Maya Road trim, I have cut portions of the same image to create a scalloped border! Love!

And lastly, a quick glance at the paper which started out white and now has a beautiful, aged appearance thanks to my distress inks! Hope you've enjoyed the previews for this month's release!

~Happy Holidays~

Welcome to day 2 of the TCM stamp previews! Today we are showcasing the Season's Greetings stamp set, designed by the talented Nina B!

Here's my card!

Sticking to the same colors as my previous post, I used more distress ink (Walnut Stain, Weathered Wood and Tattered Rose) on plain white cardstock by either stamping or blending the lovely colors together.

This frame is just so beautiful, I had to make it the center of attention on this card! To make it pop, I stamped it in a light pink color, and filled the inside with two-toned sentiments from the same stamp set!

This Season's Greetings set is FULL of lovely sentiments for the holiday season....

I added a handmade (by me!) button to the glittered snowflake, and a lil bow with a pretty pink rhinestone from Prima.

I felt like the card needed a bit more sparkle, so I punched a hole at the bottom of the frame and attached a pretty crystal (Maya Road) with some Tim Holtz jump rings!

~Oh Beautiful Star~

I am sooooooo excited to finally start showing y'all this month's stamp sneaks!!!
I have been drooling over these stamps for what feels like for-eva!

I really don't feel like stalling the card any more, so let's just move right along to today's featured stamp set and the card I created using it!
The set is called The Merry Best and it was designed exclusively for The Craft's Meow by the talented Kaitlyn Ord!

I know, right?! The sentiment, the stars.....Completely drool-worthy! Kaitlyn really rocked these stamps!

I went a bit off the beaten path with this X-mas card....Focused a bit on pinks, browns and blues...Really liking this unusual color combination for Christmas...What do you think?

Most of the paper on this card is actually just white cardstock. I've been playing with my distress inks a bit and I'm loving the way they instantly age everything! Perfect for shabby creations....

I used a combination of Weathered Wood and Walnut Stain on this card.

The pretty pink star is from this Melissa Frances diecut sheet...And the clear snowflakes are a find I picked up a while back at a craft store. With a touch of my chunky glitter, of course.

Everything else on the card has been stamped with the gorgeous TCM stamps.

I am not kidding when I say these stamp sets are some of the most beautiful Christmas designs I've ever seen!

~I Love Webster's + Glue Arts!~

Oh what fun! I get to share my card with you today!

I created this using products from Glue Arts and Webster's Pages!

I couldn't believe how creative one can be with glue! Not just any glue of course...Glue Arts' amazing products are specially created to provide functional (and strong!) adhesives that can be used in so many creative ways too!

Get creative with glue? Ya huh...I'm telling you! It's incredible what some of the design team has done!

To be honest, the only thing missing from GA adhesives is the sticky fingers...Which, if you ask me, is not such a bad thing!

~You Are My Song~

Back again and loving the new Kaiser Craft collection, Bonjour!

Check out this card I just created with the soft, delicate papers and embellies!

I used this beautiful Kaiser paper and this set of matching stickers...I could see myself creating so much with this collection...Thinking about maybe doing a class for the shop....
What do you think?
A mini album? A card class perhaps?
Hmmmm....I must ponder this one a bit more....

Anyhow, lets get back to THIS card lol...

With the Kaiser papers I added a Basic Grey paper that I just can't seem to get enough of! It's the white dotted paper from their 'basics' collection. It's so versatile!

In the detail shots here, you can see that I've used several buttons. They started out as plain wood and I've coloured them using my FAVE paint...Adirondack and Jenni Bowlin paint dabbers by Ranger!

They are so fast-drying and mess free that working with them is a total breeze! Did I mention the 'no need for brushes'...Yes, the dabber on top makes it just too easy!

I worked in a manilla tag into this card, which I obviously painted white...Really, would you expect anything else from me? haha

All the little butterflies, cute birdies and borders are from the beautiful sticker sheet

I added a few rhinestones and pearls - which I then coloured with the same Jenni Bowlin paint dabber after my pearl collection failed to provide me with the 'right' green : P
I sort of like the speckled look that the paint gives the pearls! Of course, if you do not, this can be avoided by simply applying more coats of paint!

I'm feeling so inspired, I think I may go and play with these papers just a bit more! Let's see what kinds of other things I may come up with...

~Welcoming a New Season~

Hi everyone! Firstly, I want to thank you all so much for the beautiful comments regarding my SNR publication!!! I am so thankful for each and every one of your visits and kind words :)

I also hope you are enjoying October...Not much longer before the white stuff (which shall remain unnamed) greets us...I am looking forward to the celebrations of the season, as I bid a bittersweet farewell to yet another summer...I have to say, despite the long, drawn-out winters, one of the things I will be looking forward to is a lot more scrappy time!

The winter months always bring about lots of creative time for me and I would always much rather stay cozy with a cup of tea as I craft the day away, instead of braving the chilly, wintery, outdoors...

So here's a big thumbs-up to more blogging, more creating, more time with family and friends and a kick-off to a wonderful winter season! (I know, I know, it's technically still fall, but today's card was inspired by the lovely crisp colors of winter months!)

Today, I want to share a card with you, especially created with a dear friend in mind.

I used a lovely combination of Webster's papers from the All About Me collection...

Along with a few other lovely Webster's embellies...Like the beautiful silhouette resin cameo...I mentioned these in a post a little while back...I adore working with these simple embellishments. You can really do so much with them! I added a bit of white paint to the lovely lady in this one, and for my next one, I'm thinking glitter, maybe? What do you think?

I worked in some fabric ribbon from Webster's also...It's the lovely denim-colored scalloped bit just under the stamped ticket...And not to forget a lovely blue sparkler, and a stunning vintage crystal sparkler to top off the bow...

This sentiment is from one of my fave Hero Arts stamp sets...I can't find it online atm...So if you wish to know which one it is, send me a quick message and I'd be happy to fetch the name for you...(I could easily do that at this moment too, but the couch is waaay too comfy and my will power to get up and move is waaay too low :)

Here's another quick close-up of the lacey doily under all the paper layers, and a beautiful butterfly stamped using this set from My Mind's Eye!

~Embellish Away...~

You all know how much I love my Webster's paper....I love to cut it, layer it, ink it, stamp it...

And the list goes on and on...

Every once in a while, though, I find that I need that little somethin-somethin 'extra' for sprucing up my projects....

Thus today's card which features one of my fave new Webster's embellies...

Beautiful, vintage-inspired, resin Silhouettes!!!

I love these little treasures! They are so versatile, so simple, and yet, they make such a big impact wherever you add them!

I have another project brewing at the moment with these little treasures...And I'll be showing it off soon!!!

~Buttons, Glitter and Webster's!~

How delightful! All the things I love...Handmade touch of buttons, the glimmery sparkle of chunky glitter, and delicate papers and trim from Webster's Pages!

I wanted to create a simple card with fewer layers than I normally do - but I found it pretty bare for my liking...And decided to create an easy embellishment with lots of teeny little buttons...What do you think? My inspiration for this card is from one of my most favourite creative idols, Melissa Philips :) Her work never fails to make me swoon!

I started with a shape I love so much and traced it onto some lovely Webster's Paper from this 6x6 paper collection....I cut it out and glued pink buttons of different sizes to fill in the shape.

I added a bit of white paint before I added the glitter....And that is pretty much it! Super easy, huh? And a great way to use up all of those buttons kicking around in your scrappy stash!

I layered a chipboard frame over the button bundle and added a Maya Road crystal trinket (which I painted white and glittered).

Lastly, I added a little banner and a wonderful flower - my fave at the moment - gifted to me by my sweet friend Bonnie (Thank You!!!!)

I hope you'll give this technique a try - it would be so lovely to do this on your favorite chipboard pieces, alphas, or as a frame around a photo!

~Webster's Love~

Sorrreee...I hope you can forgive me. For all the neglect, that is :(

The past couple of weeks have flown by quicker than usual

Along with working up a storm (at the shop and at home), I taught a lovely class to a bunch of sweet gals this past Wednesday night, and I had such a blast!

I can't say the same for the ladies though - I am sure they hated me the end of the class! Just kidding, of course! *wink, wink*

In all honesty, though, we did a LOT of tedious cutting, and teensy detail layering...Oh how I love to layer pretty papers!

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did and I want to send each and every one of you a BIG **thank you** for joining me and making my evening a total pleasure!!! :) Oh and thank you, Marilyn, for the lovely comment!!!! :)

I am so happy to be back to teaching classes and sharing laughs and scrappy creations with all of u!

Now that the class is over, I am back to the good ol routine...And back to my Design Team work for Webster's!

Have I told you before how much I love Webster's Pages?

I am sure I have...

But just in case you missed it, I'll tell ya again :)

I love, love, love everything Webster's!

I had recieved my goodies a while back and have been so pre-occupied with life, that the DT box has barely been touched in recent days!

I figured it was time for me to sit down and brew up something creative and give some much needed tlc to all the beautiful products just sittin there in that lonely box...Oh and not to mention that I want to get a head start on projects I'll be bringing to the shop

You know what that means, don't you?

Wonderful, yummy Webster's products will be hopping into Scrapbook Studio any day now! :) And I want to be ready!

So here's what I've been up to all morning....And most of this afternoon :)

I found this little box while shopping the other day...The stock boy was just going to toss it.

I am sure he could have tossed me too, when I shrieked with excitment and begged him not to throw it away :)

So, after heading home (all proud and happy with my little find) I brainstormed some ideas on what I would use it for! I settled on the idea of creating a gift box to hold some cards!

The box is just be perfect size to hold a few cards I whipped up (see rest of post below), and I loved the combination of all of the lovely Webster's papers and the gorgeous colors!

In addition to the WP papers, I used some gorgeous vintage trim, a beautiful flower & a lovely butterfly pin (oh how it sparkles!!!) and lots of vintage white paint :)

Here's a close up of the lid top with that beautiful butterfly :)

And a peek at all the lovely trim :)

Now I want to show you the cards I created to go inside the gift box...

I picked a few items I've been itchin to use, like a lovely purple butterfly paper, and the darling purple 6x6 paper from Webster's.

I created three cards to go into the box, using all the same papers I had set aside!
It was such a breeze with all my goodies pre-picked!

For this card, I used a combination of Winter Fairy Tale papers and some pretty stamps from My Mind's Eye.

The little button is by Maya Road and the beautiful eyelet trim is from Webster's Pages.

I added a teeny bit of embossing powder to the sentiment and a little vintage, hand-dyed ribbon bow.

I must add how much I'm lovin this color palette :)

Next up - card two - Same papers, completely different design.

Along with the Webster's paper, I used more stamps from My Mind's Eye (the little teal/white doily) and a button and chipboard frame by Maya Road.

I love the beautiful fairy and just had to add her to this card :)

I used a chipboard heart as an accent and you can learn how to make this heart right here, in my Shabby Chic Simplified class at Miss Arts Paper Crafting School!

Close up of the button - I inked and painted the lil guy and then adorned him with white paper string (a total fave!)

And lastly, card 'numero trois' - I couldn't resist those little birds :) Can you blame me? They are sooooo cute!

I added in a stamped sentiment using My Mind's Eye clear stamps....

Liquid pearls and a few punched edges...

Eeek! Those little birds are just so cute I had to show them to ya again! tee hehe

Oh and lastly, a little purple house form this beautiful Webster's paper...I wish I lived in a purple house!:)

Oh, I must say, it feels SO good to be back! And it's just wonderful to get a break form the daily 'usual' and all the wedding planning.

But all great things must come to an end, and it's my time to jet now as I've got yummy supper and more creating waiting for me :)

Oh girls! I just have to say how thankful I am that you take the time to vist my lil blog and leave such wonderful words of encouragement! :) You brighten all my days! I am so thankful for each and every comment and visit. Truly.

Annnnd....I am so glad you are back and joining me for the wonderous Craft's Meow blog hop today! We've had two amazing days of previews - I hope you got to see the rest of the DT creations - If not, check out their amazing blogs and the beatuiful work they've done with the new TCM Stamps!

Here's a card I created with the Fun{tache}tic stamp set and some yummy Webster's Pages products!

Unlike my previous post, I stuck to a very neutral theme for this card, and simply used one of the sentiments (You're Super) and the little mustache arcs peeking out of the card here and there :)

I added lots of yummy Webster's papers, Maya Road lace, and a beautiful purple Prima flower.

Just a few little splatters of black paint to fill in all the white space....

And a sweetly stamped sentiment from Nina's beautiful set!

Next up on the hop is Jean's lovely blog! I know you will adore what she has created!

~Simple Stories, Unity & Miss Arts Info!~

Have I mentioned how much I adore Simple Stories and Unity Stamps...Especially when you put them together...So fun! I first got hooked on Unity with their beautiful collaboration with Webster's Pages (my first love!)...Then I realized that Unity acutally collaborates with many of the hottest scrappy manufacturers to create stamps that coordinate perfectly with all the awesome paper that I love!

Now I am afraid that I must have every Unity stamp I can get my hands on!

That is the only trouble with discovering awesome new scrappy product...I need to seriously consider renting a storage unit for all the yummies that I am contemplating adding to my scrappy stash...Someone please stop me!!!

Anywho! Time to stop rambling and show ya some pics!

Here is a card created with Simple Stories Baby Steps paper and my newly-adopted, Unity Stamps!

Oh how I love that family stamp, the doily stamp, the always & forever stamp...

AND...I love that paper! The soft baby colors are so adorable!

~Fun {Tache} Tic~ TCM & Webster's Pages

Before I begin -Thank you to everyone for the sweet comments! Sarah - you asked if I used a die for my last card...It just so happens to be one of the *awesome* new dies at our LSS for the Accucut machine. Give me a shout if you want more info. I'll hapilly die cut a few for ya and send them your way! :)

Onto the fun stuff now!

Thanks for joining me today for the second preview of this month's Craft's Meow stamp releases! We have two beautiful stamp sets coming out this month, and today we are featuring Fun {Tache} Tic!

Personally, I have battled my father's mustache for years. Wishing, praying, hoping...That one day I would see him without the mustache...I have known my dad for 26 years, and have never seen bare skin above his upper lip...

Despite my constant battle with his lip fur, I must admit, even I am coming around to mustaches...And they really seem to be all the rage right now! Just don't tell my dad - OR my father in law for that matter - as it appears that he has also caught wind of this info and decided to grow his 'stache back...I must say - everywhere I look these days - I see mustaches!

Even so, I can't say that this was the easiest stamp for me to design with, and I have to apologize that I didn't quite do it justice - given that it is a very manly stamp and all...Buuuuut I think I am slowly falling in love with the way I used the funky 'staches to create something that is not neccesarily made for a man - well at least I hope not - Any man I know would probably run in the other direction if I presented him this little package teehehe

I thought the set was still very vesatile given the cute sentiments - Nina you really are a genious!

So, if you're a 'girly' crafter like yours truly, go ahead! And add those lil mustaches to anything you create! You don't have to feel like you're bursting out of your girlicious comfort zone! I swear! (hand on my chest)

I have a feeling that by the time we are through this post, you just might want to add a 'stache or two to your crafty stash!

What do ya think? Waaaaaay too feminine for a man, right? But in a quirky, cute, kind of way, I think it works for a crafty, girly gift!

I just HAD to add in my newest Webster's goodies to this lil treat baggie...Since they arrived at my doorstep last week, they've just been begging to be used! So I added in a lovely combination of papers form the Western Romance collection...

And I couldn't help adding in the beautiful vintage sparkler and GORGEOUS cameo pin! If your LSS doesn't happen to carry Webster's products, and you just happen to feel like your scrappy life wouldn't be complete if you didn't add these to your collection...Don't fret - you can find both of these wonderful treasures at the Webster's Pages website here :)

I also added in a beautiful trim just below the purple 'staches :) which is also by Webster's. It happens to be my absolute new fave! In the last couple of days, I've misted it, painted it, and glittered it, and the trim just gets more beautiful with every new way I discover to use it! I'll be showing ya my creations real soon! So check back to see all the ways I've been having fun with this dee-licious trim!

Now here is a close up of the sentiment and the two lovely little mustaches I layered and girl-ified! I'm sort of coming around to the idea that there are no boundaries when it comes to design...If you think I'm crazy, let me know! lol
