Precious Remembrance Card

~A Picture Makes Every Moment Last Forever~

It really is so true...And it is the reason I started papercrafting some 9ish years ago.

I wanted a way to archive all of those special moments. Photographs are such a precious treasure and I love being able to pay tribute to them through scrapbooking.

Although my craft has evolved into more of a love for card-making, every now and again, I include some photos in my work, and today's creation does just that.

Today's project is not a layout, but rather a hybrid of a card and baggie pocket album that shows off the beautiful Journey stamp set. I also happen to think that these stamps would be perfect for adding some cute accents to a layout :)

For me, this card is such a fun way to share photos with loved ones. I am so fussy about making sure that I send pictures of friends and family promptly, so that they have copies of the memories we create together. Although an email full of photos would suffice, I think a handmade card, with printed photos tucked inside would make for a much sweeter mailbox surprise.

For this card, I used a combination of pink, white and yellow printed papers. Layered over them, I added  a white cardstock base, which I stamped with the arrow motif along each side. I stamped a few pink stars at the top of the paper, and added stamped cut-outs of the sentiment.

To create the camera, I stamped the star design, in different colors on white cardstock, and then stamped the camera outline. After cutting it out, I added a little star die-cut to the lens, with a sparkly heart rhinestone.

A LITTLE TIP: Use outline stamps to create your own embellishments. All it takes is a printed paper ( or your choice of a stamped pattern on cardstock), followed by a stamped outlined image, such as this adorable camera. Then simply trim it out, and voila! You have a hand-made embellishment to add to your crafting projects. Of course, you can then add other little details, such as pearls, buttons, and die-cuts to embellish your little work of art. Whichever creation you make, you will end up with a little creation like no other, to add to your art.

Continuing on with the card, I added buttons and liquid pearls around the camera, for a bokeh effect, and finished the card by adding some trim to the side, and the rest of the sentiment just under the camera.

I've added this card to the shoppe, because I think it would make the cutest little photo holder :)

Sort of like what I am doing with this little number. I can't wait to pack this up and send it to my mom. I know she will be so happy to get it in her mail.

For the little baggie, I used a felt square layered over the scallop die-cut, and decorated with trim, buttons, and a stamped tag. To stamp the tag, I started with by stamping only the frame part of the stamp, followed by filling it in with colorful stars. I then, stamped the word "photograph" over the starry background.

I tucked the picture I took of my mom inside the pocket.

I added some matching buttons to the front of the baggie, in pretty pastel colors, and squeezed out a few liquid pearls to add a bit more dimension and whimsy to the pocket.
