~Moments in Time~

Things have been a little tough with the recent closure of our LSS. I was a little worried about sharing this news out here in the blog-o-sphere, in the fear that it may be seen as a bit over-dramatic, as I know many people face obstacles much, much more devastating than this.

For this reason, I was so humbled by the response from all of you....
I sincerely want to thank each and every one who took time to share their thoughts, prayers and kind words of encouragement. The past week has been filled with ups and downs...And your sweet comments and emails have meant so much to me, and to anyone affected by this sad news.

I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life, and especially thankful for all of you and your support!

I now want to move onto a project that I've been working on for a few days now...And the title is such a perfect reflection of what I've been feeling since all of this has happened.

It's funny how life eventually just turns into ...'Moments in Time'...Every memory you make eventually becomes the past and a reflection of a moment in time...
Some moments are great, some you can't forget fast enough...And other moments you just wish could last forever...

I guess the hardest part is learning to embrace the ever-changing nature of life and understand that with every new chapter, great things will come...

So here is a mini album, created with the YUMMIEST Webster's Pages goodies, celebrating moments in time :)

I used a combination of Ladies and Gents papers and embelishments and Country Estate papers...I first cut three sheets of white cardsock to measure 6x12 inches, scoring at the midway point, to create a 6x6 book. I layered the three sheets, lining up the score lines, and I attched them using some embroidery floss and a needle (I really gotta get me a sewing machine!)...After gluing down my base patterned paper on the cover, I glued white cotton seam binding around front and back covers of the book so that I could continue to build my layers on top and have a nice bow-tie closure for my book :)

The stamps shown here are by Inkadinkado, and the rose is by Prima. I used the Life's Portait collection (an older collectoion from Webster's Pages) to cut out the round frame, and then I layered my stamped image onto a beautiful turqoise paper from the new Country Estate collection by Webster's.

I used a journaling card (time. stands. still.) from the Ladies and Gents collection and a Melissa Frances resin key.

Oh if you're wondering- the album has no pics yet. It's an album I plan to fill over time with pictures that reflect milestone moments in my life :) I love having projects that are pre-made for me, and then I just simply add the photos when I find the ones that are the best fit.

I created a lil pocket using the teal paper and a cut out from a collage paper in the Ladies and Gents collection. The removeable picture tag features a Chipboard Button and some Fabric Ribbon from the Ladies and Gents collection. On the back of the picture tag is a journalling spot - great for some reminiscing :)

Here's a shot of the one side and how the flap looks when it's closed. I used another Chipboard Button here...And if you look closely, it's printed with the beautiful timepiece design to coordinate with the motifs in the collection! I {heart} these little buttons!
I used a journalling card (looooove how many totally awesome designs come in those little itty bitty journaling card sets!) as the base of this page and up above the flap, I used a bit of the Webster's Pages Spring Eyelet Trim, with a pretty green sparkler.

For this page, I did a lot of fussy cutting, getting lost in the stunning graphics of all the gorgeous Webster's Pages paper... Here's the paper I used...And as you can see, I've cut out many of the little timepieces and arranged them on these little pages.
The punch I used is my new fave...Abstract Flower by EK Success.

And here is the last spread...A few touches from older Webster's collections...Like the green rhinestone Sparkler, and filmstrip cut out from a Hollywood Vogue paper....

I used my fave alphas on here...Webster's Storytellers...

And a bit more stamping and punching. Filigree stamp by We Are Memory Keepers and Vintage Floral punch design by Martha Stewart.

Close-up of the page on the right, and a stamped image using the incredibly beautiful Happiness is...Stamp Set designed by Nina B. for The Craft's Meow.

A shot of the back of the mini, with more details using pretty paper from this amazing collection :)

~A Moment to Pause~

Hi friends. Hope you've been well. I know this post is long overdue as I've had some time off from work and have been on a mini-vacay for the past few days. It was so wonderful to get away for the long weekend, especially since this week has been a tough one. So much has happened (including some sad news) and I just wish I could share all the details with you right now...But it is still hard to say the outcome of everything that has happened and what is to come, so I will stay positive and do what I love, and hopefully, somehwere in there, everything else will fall into place :)

And of course, as soon as I know more, I will be sure to share and keep you in the loop. So sorry I can't be more specific right now.

The good news is that I will finally have some time to catch up with my never-ending to-do list, and hopefully if all works out, I may even have a moment to pause and enjoy some of the more simple things in life :)

On a much happier note, I just got back from a fantabulous Webster's Pages online chat, and I have a little card and mini album to share with you all created for my wonderful mom (it was her birthday yesterday).

I dug out my Webster's Pages box of yummy goodies and created for hours. It was probably just as much of a gift to me as it was for my mom. It's amazing what a passion of crafting can do for one's soul. And it's even more amazing how much a few un-interrupted hours of crafting can do for my spirit.

So here's what I've created...First up, a little giftcard using the gorgeous Webster's Pages Trendsetter and Country Estate collections.

I absolutely adore Webster's designs...Not just for the breath-taking graphics, but also the subtle prints and stunning colors...Each so versatile and mixable...I've loved playing with all the beautiful Webster's papers throughout the years...Mixing the old with the new...Always discovering new combinations and new favourites...

For the card itself, I used a beautiful Webster's Pages paper from the Lullaby collection...onto which I layered some lovely teal print from the Country Estate collection...

I added in a pop of pink from a lovely paper in the Trendsetter collection, and beautiful Webster's Pages trim (Spring Eyelet). I used my new favourite punch from EK Success (I seriously have an addiction) and a few touches from my stash like the buttons, paper string, and misted ribbon...

Then I created this coordinating mini with the same papers and a few Webster's Pages yummy and irresistible embellies :)

Using a tag, I traced the shape onto cardstock and various solid colored Webster's Pages papers for easy layering. I used the same colors as in the card, softening the colors slightly with a swipe or two of white paint...

For the cover, I dusted a gorgeous Webster's Fabric Flower with white paint and chunky, sparkly, glitter :)

Here is a close-up, as well as a shot of the yummy little WP chipboard button, and pink Whimsie flowers with a few dashes of paint...

Keeping with the color theme, I added a beeeaautiful Fabric Ticket (I've been dying to use these!! And I LOVE them!), and some custom-misted ribbon, and buttons from my stash...

Here, I added in some Fabric Ribbon that perfectly coordinate with the colors of my mini, and a teensy little Push Pin...How cute?!

Here are some close-ups...

See that little pin? I absolutely love it! And the cutest part is how they come packaged! Check it out here...I am working on a little project with the cube as we speak...Stay tuned to see what I create with it :)

Here's the third page of the mini, and here I added in a Whimsie birdie (so sweet) with a bit of white paint for some definition...

Couple more close-ups...

And the last, but not least, page of the mini...

Using more Chipboard Buttons, pretty Fabric Ribbon and lovely papers...

Teeny wooden hearts from my stash...

For a mini absolutely loved by my sweet mum :) I know she will just love adding in her fave pics in all the little photo mats I've left for her :)

So that's it! Thanks for listening, and for always being there. I appreciate your visits and sweet comments more than words can say.
I'll be back with more juicy projects and hopefully some good news soon. :)

~We Have a Winner!~

Edited: Just wanted to pop back in and add something I forgot to do yesterday. A sweet reader (Helen L) asked me how I make the outline with some of my cut-out shapes. Helen - I actually trace the shapes first and then cut around the traced marks, leaving the line visible :) Hope that helps :) Now back to the winning news below....

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend :) The weather was so beautiful here (finally feels like spring) and we enjoyed every little minute of it at home, as we helped my family fix up their roof. The weather was so nice, in fact, that most of us ended up with a pretty mean sunburn...Sometimes, after such a long winter, one forgets just how strong that sun can be!

Anyhow, I'm glad to be home and back to the good ol' usual way of life... But what I'm most excited about is announcing the winner of my little giveaway!
Instead of pulling names from a hat (even though it is fun and takes me back to my childish ways...I've realized that my time is short), I used the ever-so-lovely random number generator, powered by Random.org....

The randomly drawn winner of ALL FOUR gorgeous, exclusive Craft's Meow stamp sets is.....

Congratulations!!! Please e-mail me at ivc689@mail.usask.ca with your info and address! :)

Thank you to all of you wonderful gals who played along!!! I hope to be back with more give-aways soon! And next time I'll draw for several names so that we can spread the joy of winning!

Hope you have a fabulous week :)

~A Card for my Mom~

Hey! I'm back again. I have another project to share with you :)
I was so loving making little gifts for my mom this past week, that I created another little card...I'm thinking I'll probably pull this one out when she least expects it and brighten her day with some sweet words I've scribbled on the inside :)
Moms rarely recieve the appreciation they deserve, so this is just a teensy weensy little way I can show her just how much she means to me :)

I know my mom loves blues, greens and browns intermingled together, so I know she will love this card! I used gorgeous papers from Prima's Madeline collection.
Ever feel like a paper was designed just for you? Yup...That's Madeline for me :) Even that little journal a few posts back was sooooo my type of thing...And that paper just made it come alive
I have a stash of these papers safely tucked away in my craft room..You know...Just in case...
I need to be prepared with my fave collections in tow...You may think it's a bit nutty, but I loooove to hoard paper :) If there is one thing I can never get enough of, it's paper!

Anywho...Back to the card now :) So, aside from Prima paper, I added in some liquid pearls in white, Ranger Stickles in Platinum, Webster's Pages Sparklers, and a teeny little Prima stamp (the little medallion above the top butterflies). As usual, I traced various shapes and cut them out for the top of the card...

And then I added a little 'mom' stamp from WRMK, a Tattered Angels chipboard frame and lots of pretty butterflies I cut out from the Prima paper :)

Well, I hear my tummy rumbling...So that's about it for now. Be back soon!

~Happy Mom's Day~

She is a constant source of support, love and humor in my life...I don't know what I would do without her warm smile and loving hugs and all the lovely little things that only a mom can give her kiddos. I love you mom. This card is for you!

Sadly, I have to wait until next weekend to see my mom so I created a card and tag set and thought I could post it so it will be just like I am with her...I hope you're reading, mom!
I created an additional little tag for my MIL...These are just so cute and easy to make and perfect for little gifts from the heart

I used gorgeous Webster's Pages to create this little set...The paper is from the Lullaby Lane and Ladies and Gents collections. I added in a couple of items from my stash (chipboard frame and mom's day stamp)...

I dyed the ribbon using some gold Glimmer Mist and I stamped the lovely blooms in black using the beeeaaautiful Itty Bitty stamp from Unity/Webster's Pages...Dontcha just loooove those teeny little roses...I am absolutely nutty for it! :)

I painted the Webster's Pages Push Pin with white paint and then covered it in lovely, chunky glitter...Yum :)

I added a bow using Webster's Pages Spring Eyelet Trim...Looooove this beautiful stuff! I brushed it with some white paint and added a little WP Whimsy flower :)

I miss you and can't wait to see you mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Oh and not to forget....Wishing ALL moms a beautiful day!!!

~A Little Journal~

Hey - check this out! More awesome additions to the faaaabuuulous TCM team! Visit the TCM blog here to find out about all the talent that's hopping onboard :)

I was about to do some crafty work and then I realized I had this little journal that I forgot to show y'all :( It's been sitting around my craft room, just begging to be showed off..So here it is!

I used LOTS of Prima yummy-ness on here...All the way from the paper, to the stamps and even the alphas!

I misted some cotton seam binding to match the papers...looove the way my glimmery, shimmery fingers look after a good misting, I swear more mist ends up all over me than on my project! Am I the only wreckless crafter? Sure hope not...

Anywho, I also created a teensy little button to add on top of the pretty, misted ribbon :)

I thought this was a great time to use up all of those Prima packages that I have kicking around...Sure beats stamping onto transparencies and I looooove the way it looks! I also added in a snippit of some of the gorgeous Prima journalling cards from the Madeline Collection...Have you seen these yet? Sooooo lovely! Thinking about doing a mini book with them...Will show ya when it's done :)

I used some lovely Prima stamps on the side of the journal as well as the ever so GORGEOUS canvas letters! K I swear I am not that boring...but I just can't help but LOVE all things white! I love the peacefulness and simplicity of a white canvas...So easy to alter, so easy to work with, so easy to love :) Yum!

Ooops, can't forget to show ya the little birdie...Isn't she lovely? :)

And a shot of the back-side :)

Okay now I best be going to do some craftin'
Catcha later!
